Some usb adapters need to be set before using with dancepads, to do this hit select, start and up for three seconds. Hope this helps.

I got this adapter about a month ago: www.buynshop.com/productinfo/45/VG-PS-USB2X1/The one I got was prior to version 3.1 and it does not register double-arrow steps and has timing problems where there is a delay between when the arrow is stepped on and when it is registered on the computer. This defeats the whole purpose of DDR. Has anyone tried version 3.1? Does it have the problem described above? Also, what is this business of pressing Start + Select + Up arrow? Is this supposed to be done every time before playing the game or only once? Also can someone just tell me which is the best Playstation -> USB converter that works with DDR for PC? A URL to the product would be appriciated. Thanks in advance, Raphael

I'd like to plug wwwelectricquarter.com for PS->USB adapters. I bought the Super Dual Box adapter from them for $18.99 shipped, It can do two pads at once, and has worked great for both DWI and Stepmania for me.

I just got my USB adapter for my RedOctane pad yesterday. It took us about an hour to get the thing working. There is a good flow chart that helped us get the thing working on Stepmania's website. www.stepmania.com/stepmania/usbtroubleshoot.phpEven though my adapter and pad were recommended and my husband has written over 20 computer books, it took us more than an hour to get it to work consistently. I don't think I'll be recommending StepMania to the newbies unless they are super computer literate. On the positive note, I played for an hour and a half yesterday and didn't repeat a song. It was great. I love StepMania, but it took a lot to get it ready to play. With the Xbox, all I had to to do was turn it on and play.

Best adapter I've ever used is the SmartJoy PLUS PS/PS2 ->USB. only about 13 bucks on lik-sang and ships to the US for like 6-10 bucks. never experienced a problem.
Did have to get a new one though because my mom stepped on one of my two... after she had picked it UP so she wouldn't. Then just drops it. -_-
