Well, there's multiple ways you can go about playing DDR on the PC. Konami has a DDR PC version which you can purchase (I think they've got info on it at http://www.konami.com), but there's also various DDR emulators that you can download for free (Stepmania, DWI to name a few). If you want to use the pad with the games, all you need is a PS compatible pad + a PS to USB converter so that you can plug the pad into your computer. I'm not sure, but I think the converters come with drivers and what not to make this process easier.
It's really not difficult to get into, but I always perferred playing Stepmania with my hands, not a pad. XD

www.stepmania.com/stepmania/ Is where you wanna head for the stepmania download. Songs are easy enough to snag if you search around online. I have Stepmania running on my Mame cabinet here and home and its beautiful. Infact aside from the fact that konami needs sales to keep thing thing going I love stepmania so much more, no more changing discs to find your favorite song.

Flash Flash Revolution is OK, however I wouldn't consider it anything terribly great. It's basically a flash imitation of the standard simulators out there. Some of the songs are not all that well synched either.
Be VERY wary of using PS2->USB adapters. They are notorious for either 1) being unable to hit up/down or left/right at the same time, and 2) having time-delays from the time you hit the arrow to the time it is recognized on the computer.
If I were you I'd solder together my own adapter using a DB25 LPT port adapters and DirectPadPro (or NTPad if you have Windows XP).

Stepmania is indeed fun. Just download some of the music files and you are off to play! It's pretty much a copy of the DDR games and you play!

www.stepmania.com -Home site for Stepmania. Download the program, skins, and some songs here. Also you can download support for Pump It Up, Ez2Dancer, and ParaPara Paradise. Stepmania demands more from your computer than DWI. Update: Any skins other than default will not work with Stepmania 3.9 so far, bugs are being worked out. Latest version is 3.9 alpha 12. Version 3.0 is still available for download. www.savageddr.com/ -A site with numerous Stepmania add-ons such as Characters and Announcers. dwi.ddruk.com/ -Dance With Intensity download site. Never used it, so no comments. All that I know is you can download the program here and it's preferred for people with computers that may not be able to handle Stepmania www.dwipalace.cjb.net (link provided by m335h73r )- NeoMAX, MAXX EXTERMINATION and others Typed that up on a different board GOD but I love copy and paste.

Also, keep in mind that stepmania is more than just your plain ddr game, you can customize the heck out of it, different announcers, different themes, thousands of songs. If you have a computer look into it you won't be sorry.
