Can my modchipped euro PS2 play US imports?

I kind of jumped the gun and bought the RedOctane pad before asking this question...
Now that I have read your responses to someone who wanted to play UK imports on a US PS2 I am beginning to wonder whether I will be able US bought games in my mod chipped PS2 which I bought in Europe.

Thank you for any information you can provide on this, I sure hope I'll be able to play...

I'm not sure on this, but I believe it's easier to go from NTSC->PAL than the other way around, so you may be in luck.
