Okay...so I just got the ultramix 2 bundle, and am having my first DDR experience. So far I reaaaaalllly suck!!! Can anyone please give me advice on this beginner mode I've read about? I don't see this anywhere. If there is no beginner mode on ultramix 2...then where is a really crappy newbie to start? Which songs are the easiest. I've chosen "light" for the songs I've tried so far, but they're still way beyond my realm of current possibilities. Also...I've read some stuff about a song being a "4 footer" for example and some being a "10 footer"...I think that's what it was anyway. Are the songs somehow labled as to their level of difficulty? Where? Any help would be so great! I don't want to be a DDR dropout in my first week!

Don't sweat it, I've had DDR Ultramix 2 for 5 days and I'm already getting A's on light mode.
Yes, there is a beginner mode on U2 which is really great for newbies. When you're selecting a song, use the up down arrows to select a difficulity. Most songs have a beginner-light-standard-heavy setting, but I think some songs only go from light to heavy, without a beginner mode (don't hold me to that, I'm not entirely sure) The beginner mode is great because you generally only use one foot at a time except on those split jumps. Even though its discouraged to return to the center of death, you can tap your foot from the center to the buttons to keep to the rythm. Also the footer for songs in beginner mode isn't displayed on the song select screen, neither is any letter grade you get when you've played.
A 'footer' is the rating given to each song based on it's difficulity. They're the little yellow, blue and green feet that you see on the screen... IE you'll see a foot and a x3 or something beside it.
Good luck; if you stick with it you'll do just fine, all you need is practice!

Thank you so so much for such a thorough and helpful reply!! I was attempting to do the Training mode...hence the reason I couldn't find the "beginner" level. I found it now though, and I'm loving it!! It's actually FUN! Thanks also for letting me know that you've gotten the hang of it so quickly! Gives me hope! Thanks again!

Hey no problem, I was nervous when I first started too. I'd only played it once or twice in the arcade, but other than that I knew squat. If you're consistant you'll be suprised how good you get so quickly. Have fun
