Ideally I would like one that workson both the ps2 and xbox, but I want the best. Dont want some crappy pad that will brake easily.
In the case the best isnt available for both xbox and ps2 perhaps someone knows the best for ps2 as well.

The "best" is the cobalt flux pad for PS2. Its a metal pad and it goes for $300. Supposed you can drive a truck over it and it still works. But at this point its PS2 only, i hear you can buy adaptors easy enough, but some may lag the steps a bit. After the CF, i would recommend getting ignition style pads (foam insert soft pads) there are a number of places to get them and they are all basically the same (levelsix, redoctane, mymybox, etc.). The only official XBOX ignition i've seen is from levelsix, and i have one..its worked great for me so far, but i'm not a super elite player either, so i don't know if it has issues on heavy songs...so far i love it.

I have a Red Octane pad and a Mad Catz pad. The Mad Catz has the X and Y buttons, so I can use it to play games like Super Bubble Pop and Klax on the Midway Treasures Collection.
The Red Octane pad is super cool, but the foam is getting a little squished. Is it possible to buy new foam inserts for it, or do I need to get a whole new pad?
