Konami has some more screen shots right here: www.konamihwi.com/2004e3/ultramix2-screens.htmlIt looks like they have new dancers. There looks like there are some fun games to play against other people. Plus, they have the beginner steps! Yeah! Of course, by the time this game shows up, I'll be beyond beginner and I won't need them. At least friends could come over and play and enjoy it instead of getting totally frustrated.

Have you heard the new song for it? www.zonkaholics.com/index.htmlThe song is Tittle Tattle by Zonk. It sounds INSANE. I can't even picture the steps for it, but it will be interesting to say the least. The songlist is beautiful so far. I might need an Xbox. I'll worry about that when I get done with Extreme, though. EDIT: Sorry, wrong link. Fixed.

Why not just play Halo with the Dance pad? That would be so fun if you could do that. Running away would really be running away. This is story is a joke, but wouldn't it be totally cool if it were true? www.slashnot.com/article.php3?story_id=422

Well, I'm having a little conversation with myself here, apparently. Oh well...
Only a week until the release! YEAH!
Yesterday, I was in Circuit City and they had a DDR Ultramix 2 Music Sampler CD sitting by one of their computers where they look things up. I brought it up to the cashier and asked if I had to pre-order to get it and she said that I could just have it!! Yeah!
I listened to it last night and today! Woot Woo!
I had been going all around town to every game store asking if they had incentives if I pre-order Ultramix 2 and none of them had anything. I got this one for FREE!
**Imagine me dancing right now and not DDR dancing, silly wacky dancing like Grateful Dead fans do...**
Isn't anyone else excited about this?!!!

I got that sampler when I pre-ordered it at gamestop. I really like numbers 9 and 21, they are remakes from castilvania on old nintendo theme song.

Soo, I will be picking this up today. I hope its just as good as the first one, if not better. The Xbox live is supposed to be a lot better. We will see I guess.

Wow, we get one old 10 and mention of a new 10 that just kind of vanished from Extreme. You guys got THREE 10s, 2 of which are brand new (plus you have Outer Limits in the songpacks):
MaxX Unlimited G2 Max 300 (Super-Max-Me Mix)
Everybody is saying that the Heavy 5s/6s seem like 7s, the 7s seem like 8s, the 8s seem like 9s, etc...craziness.
Congrats XBox players: Konami just made up for Ultramix 1 and then some. (er, not that Ultramix was bad; just a lot of the steps were...)
(I hope those simfiles become available soon...)

There are some pretty significant changes to Workout Mode as compared to UM1. - Workout now defaults to Random Non-Stop mode, so you don't have to stop to pick songs. If you do want to pick songs, you just hit B at the end of a song to go to the stats page and, from there, back to the song list.
- Swimming and jumping rope stats are no longer tracked. (Could be wrong about jumping rope, but I don't recall seeing it.)
- A pedometer has been added! 6810 steps in my workout this morning.
- The Goals have been removed. Instead, total time and total calories (no longer per song calories) are displayed while you play. Just keep an eye on those to know when to stop per your own goals.
- There is now an animation of somebody running across the top of the screen when using workout mode. It doesn't react to your workout or anything, so it's purely eye candy.
I like the random non-stop song selection, but the downside is that you end up playing all songs on the same difficulty level (Light, Standard, Heavy). You have to go back to the song list in order to trade up or down. From what I can tell, like UM1, workout mode does not count towards unlocks. Not workout mode related, but Xbox Live support is much nicer now. You can stick with the same four people for song after song without having to restart Live battles and lose everybody. I had been holding off on Laura's idea of doing XBL workouts until I saw how that worked (because it would have taken forever to get a good workout using the old XBL multiplayer method). Now we can just set up a workout lobby and set the song to Random to just fly through tracks.

Ugh. The cumulative session time/calories counter is only good for as long as you're doing the random non-stop play. If you break out to see your stats, it resets both to zero so that there's no way to know when you've hit your goal for the workout. So, as long as you don't stop dancing to, say, drink some water, you'll be good.

I am so happy with U2!
I haven't tried out a lot of the modes, but I like the Workout Mode and the Game Mode. They really made some stylistic changes to the song selection that are really nice.
