I've heard rumors that RedOctane is dropping ITG2 for PS2. Can anyone verify the validity of this, and does anyone have more details on this, and what it means for ITG2? I'm hoping it doesn't mean no ITG2, I've been waiting for this game for ages...  |

I haven't heard anything officially myself (but then again, I'm not a RO employee, just a volunteer), but it wouldn't surprise me. ITG, while critically acclaimed, did not sell well. It was a "doorbuster" for BestBuy on Black Friday last year, and still didn't do that well. With the acquisition by Activision, and the discovery of the cash cow that is Guitar Hero, It wouldn't surprise me if they passed on the publishing rights for ITG2.
It doesn't necessarily mean no ITG2, just that it's likely not going to be a RO product.
Apparently, if you buy ITG PC, and get Update 2, it adds ITG2.

Ok, thanks for the info. As for the PC version, I recently became aware of that, but the fact is there just isn't enough room by our computers to set up a mat, so I'd prefer to have it on PS2...

Last I've heard is that yes, Konami acquired all IP rights to ITG, but there was no determination on the fate of ITG2 for PS2. See this thread for more of my conjecture. |

I've already heard confirmation of an ITG3 in March, so it most likly shows Konami putting an interest in to ITG, but because of that, I do also belive there will be an ITG2 PS2.

Until there is an official announcement in big bold letters on the front page of one of a few websites (DDRFreak, ITGFreak, Konami, Roxor, InTheGroove), any comments like these are just complete speculation/rumors and have no real evidence/proof, so don't go stating it like it's solid fact.  |

For now, we can only hold out hope that Konami sees that there is no real harm in publishing (at least a limited run of) DDR: In the Groove 2 for PS2, since they have almost no sunk development time into it, and it's pretty much guaranteed to sell a couple hundred thousand copies. There still exists the possiblilty that they'll just bury it and forget about it (In the Grave, they're calling it in DDRFreak).

I have been waiting for ITG2 for ps2 for ages also..... I only have the first in the groove.... If i had the 2nd one, i would try to get a full combo on nightmare intense.....

It's pretty officially dead because Konami's a bunch of lawsuit happy b******s. With the right materials though, you can make one yourself. Or just play the PC version. Or buy the beta version on E-bay or something.
