DDR Supernova ships today!

thats all i have to say about this game.

i played for six hours today, and i want to play more. and i died at the end of Xepher Challenge. no bar.

I'm already at The Last One, and I've done the first 2 showdowns but can do the missions to get to the Diamond EX showdown.

I love how challenging some of the songs are, I AA HDV on Expert but I'm scared to tyr it on Challenge.

I picked it up last night, but probably won't get much of a chance to play it until after the weekend (My wife's family is in town). Hopefully by next weekend I can get my review up.

I'll try and get it when I can. Well, and when I have a better pad again. Without one, I won't be able to do full combo something to save my life, and I'm assuming there's some missions that require it.

FAXX killed my mat, I'm not kidding I tried it on Challenge and around 10 seconds through my left arrow died, I prbibly wouldn/t have passed it anyway but it still sucks. I know whats wrong with my mat so I can fix it so thats good.

I'm really liking Supernova so far, especially all the recognizable pop songs! All the reviews talk about how much they hate the "Stellar Master" mode, but I really like that too - it's a fun challenge and gets me to do harder songs than I normally would try. How about everybody else?

I prefer Stellar Master mode over the Dance master mode from Extreme 2. Giving me the choice of which song to play to meet a specific goal is much beter than forcing me to navigate through a silly maze of challenges.

Also, the scores from Stellar Master mode appear when you later play in game mode - that's so great!

Well I love having the new songs, but...
I'm a bit slower on the uptake than most since I was never a gamer first, only a DDR player--so I am having a heck of a time figuring out the game, I get crazy trying to figure out when I'm in trials and not, and which one I'm in, and how to get to another one ... I guess I'll get it sooner or later.

Also -- is it my imagination or have PS2 games gotten progressively easier? It seems that difficulty has gotten a lot less since Max, and easier through Max 2, Extremes got easier -- and now it seems like what is "Difficult" (same as Standard?) on SuperNova is like maybe 3-4-footers were on Max.
I started out getting AAs consistently on SuperNova "Difficult," and B or above on Expert, first times through.
I know I've gotten better through the years, but I don't think THAT much!

I'm really happy that I ended up a getting this game. It's great to have more songs to dance to, and I just find that the patterns here are a lot more fun than the patterns of konamix...they are challenging and involve a lot of movement, but they make sense. Also, I'm liking that I can turn off the jumps, which I'm sure that my downstairs neighbors will appreciate when they move in.

DDRMom... chances are you're just getting better. I can't speak for on lower difficulties than expert, but for expert and challenge, Supernova has the hardest songs in the DDR series to date.

Sure, they're not as hard as some of the messes found in ITG (Hardcore of the North, for example. No DDR song comes close to 898 steps), but songs like Fascination MaxX, Healing-D-Vision, and Chaos were a huge leap from the difficulty usually seen in DDR (even if HDV is only hard to PA for not following the beat, and chaos is only hard for the same reason along with the ridiculous number of stops).

Maybe so - well either way it's good for my ego to think I've maybe advanced that much.
I also really like the variety in SuperNova --it's easy to go 2 hours and not get bored.

I'm gonna agree with Spooty. Granted, I'm way out of practice, but I found, even at the 5-7 foot level, the stepcharts on Supernova to be more difficult than other DDRs.

I'm really excited about the difficulty leap. I can pass a couple twelves (I'm nowhere near as good as most of you...) but Fascination MaxX gives me a ton of trouble.

If you can pass a few 12's, I think you're better than the majority of us. Bear in mind most people are here to lose weight, not nessecarily to get up to passing ridiculous difficulties.

Anyway, I'm gonna go get SuperNova when I get the chance. It does have some new challenges (although I think some of the challenges are due to plain crappy stepcharts, it's new challenges nonetheless) which I'm interested in.

Course, I'm not gonna bother til I know I'm gonna end up with a decent working pad. I can't FC songs to save my life thanks to the huge number of pad Way Off's/Almosts I get.
