Hello.
It's anyone's guess how many actual calories you burn while working out. Do you swing your arms? Do you slide on the arrows or step and jump? Are you freestyling as you do this? Is your pad ghost stepping on you? (I used to supposedly burn about 800kcal per hour on a broken pad. All lies!)
It would be impossible for either us or the game to give you an accurate number of calories burned. I started with Max2 as well - and have since learned to ignore that feature. Spending a similar amount of time every day at around the same time every day is more important than judging that you've burned 300 calories.

Ditto StarDrifter. Don't go by the DDR's calories burned counter. They're inaccurate. It's more important that you get your workout consistently every day or almost every day and that you keep your heart rate up for a specific amount of time. It is possible to DDR and never even break a sweat, but if you want to lose weight, you need to get your heart beating and your muscles working.

There *is* a use for DDR's calorie counter, and that's as a comparative measure between workouts. So if it says you burnt 300 calories today, you can use that as a rough comparison for tomorrow's workout, even though tomorrow may take a different amount of time (if you're playing easier songs, for example).
