I'm all for any dance game, as it shows that there is a market for more various Dance game types and genres. The more popular the genre becomes, the more licensed music we get in the games, as the publisher has a better feeling that the game will be a success, so they're willing to shell out more money to get the licenses. Of course, this can become self-fulfilling, as better licensed music means more sales.
I'd really love to see Roxor hook up with Harmonix on this front. The stepchart quality of ITG with the Licensed music selection of Harmonix. Mmmm mmmm good.

funny, because to me, I would really rather there not be popular songs in any of the games.... I love the cool music that fills the games right now, and it exposes me to new things. It's like, yeah dancing to rock lobster is fun, but it will never be like dancing to love is dreaminess, etc...

I probably won't get this one because I just don't like hip hop or rap or anything like that very much. It's a good addition for those who do, though, so thumbs up on it.

there is a 100% chance that I will not be getting this game.
-the music playing behind the trailer I watched sucked more than a vacuum -it looks trashy -the arrows have no color differentiation (quarters and halves) -i hate the hip-hop culture and everything it represents. glamorizing violence and objectifying women is so not my thing and people who support this need a head on their shoulders.

I will buy it because A.) It will offer something new, besides techno and J-pop. B.) Maybe it will actually be good with some new additions and features, and C.) Rap is (IMO) the best type of DDR music...

Just to educate some folks, I do not represent the kind of hip hop you are all thinking about, in fact the group I represent, had you followed my links, is trying to turn away from the violence and womanizing. They are a christian hip hop group, just in case you didn't figure that out. I have heard some of the secular rap and it is life for these people and they prolly do know better, but maybe thats what they grew up in. I am not making excuses for anyone out there but it is an art form, you may not like it but I do. People are quick to steryotype the hip hop culture with out knowing the back round. There is more to rap than just the Emcee's and Dj's. It goes in this order: DJ's-because with out the DJ's we wouldn't have hip hop. Emcee's-they tell how it is B-Girls/Boys-they dance Graffitti it's part of the culture, I do not condone vandalism (Our church van is graffittied by choice, I'll post som pictures some time) Christ-this is only true in the case of christian hip hop artists.
So that being said don't dis on me just cause I like a form of art that you may not. You might like country but I loath it, I wouldn't diss on you the way you do on me, just cause you like country. If any one wants to know the history of hip hop and how it started I will start a new thread with the story of how it all began k, I'll do it tonight.

Okay, and I'm saying this because it's a saying I use, and not because I'm "persecuting" you as a Christian, but get off the dang cross already. Do you honestly think that a dissertation on the origins of Hip-hop is going to change anybody's mind on whether or not they enjoy the music? Would a dissertation from me on how much Hip-hop has in common with Country change your opinion on how much you enjoy that music? You need to get away from this knee-jerk reaction whenever somebody says anything negative about hip-hop. It's a musical taste issue, there is no right or wrong.

Okay I was replying to the fact that what I listen to is not the same as what he was talking about k. I am sorry if I am stepping on your toes but hey he made a stereotype of all hip hop and not all of it is the same. It is an art form and I think that some of it is crap and gives it all a bad name. Go to a club and you will find the real stuff the truth of life not a glamorized life of violence and womanizing. It is a way of life. I don't care about the fact that I listen to it and just so you know I hate it when people shove religion down my throat and that wasn't my intention sorry if it came off that way. I am not about fire hell and brimestone. sorry I am not saying they have to like it that is not my intentions at all but I think you need to be informed before you go shooting your mouth off about something you know nothing about. And I know you are trying to help me out an all that but hey being informed is always better than being ignorant. Anyways I didn't make rude comments about them ya know like he said needs to get a head and such. That was my point.

And my point was that you were doing an extremely poor job of making yours. It's not about "stepping on my toes" (where did you get that idea?). It's about your approach to trying to win people over to giving hip-hop a broader chance. It's about you making similar assumptions to those you decry so loudly.

I understand what you are saying I am sorry and just to let everyone know I really am sorry. It's not an excuse but it does affect my mood and that is that I have had a migraine since Friday and I shouldn't be getting all stressed out about whether or not people like hip hop cause it is stupid to do so. My point is be informed before you from an opino, it could turn out to be that you are stereotyping. Being informed is always good.

To get off the track of abrannan vs. wings, did you watch the video's to the game? listen to the music/what's being said. I didn't get to watch them all, my eyes started leering to more interesting things, but could someone with a lot of free time try to get what they're saying, then argue some more?
I like country because it promote a family attitude.
