Hmmm....I wonder if it's the DDR. I just received this letter under my door. It says....
Dear Angela:
Recently, we have received numerous complaints in regards to excessive noise coming from your unit. Specifically, loud music.
We are confident that you did not realize how disruptive the noise level was and will take appropiate measures to rectify the situation and that you would please keep the music to a volume in which your neighbors will not hear it. We appreciate your cooperation. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call at (919) 957-4633. You may also contact us via e-mail at indigo@ticonproperties.com.
Thank you,
Ticon Properties
This has really pissed me off! I don't even keep my music loud and I go to bed everynight between 9:30-10:00pm....I have to be at work at 7 every morning. I mean come on....none of my neighbors ever hear me complain because I have trouble getting to sleep due to the sound of their bass pounding in my ear drum.

I have trouble getting to sleep due to the sound of their bass pounding in my ear drum. So they may have the wrong unit. Call or e-mail them (Ticon) and state that you believe that there may have been a mis-identification of the unit that is causing the noise problem. State the times of day you play DDR, and state that you've heard loud, bassy music from another unit after you've gone to sleep. Tell them you'll keep your music down to a lower level, but that you feel it is not your unit that is causing the distubance.

Thanks for the advise! I ended up leaving them a nice, long e-mail. While I was at work today....our "neighbor" came over and talked to my boyfriend. He was asking if we were the ones that were playing our "boom box" at 2:30 in the morning. James told him that I have to be up early in the mornings and that even he has to walk around on tip toes so he won't wake me. I think everythings is solved.

That's great to hear. I'd just like to take this opportunity to say that I'm glad I (hopefully) never have to live in an apartment/dorm/condo situation again.

That kind of living sucks it's like you pay a butt load of rent and for what to walk on egg shells cause everyone else is all pissy. Well I am glad that you situation was rectified. If it is in the hours that you can do the things you need to do then I think managers need to tell the complainres to take a hike their neighbors also pay rent. With in reason of course like if your music is maxed out then yeah they have a right to complain but other than that noise un-avoidable, the walls are paper thin and there aint nothin you can do about it cept move or chushion your noise with blankets, towels, ect. WINGS

I live in a condo with nice thick floors and walls and there's no problem playing DDR, either with the music or the jumping. Not all condo/apt buildings are bad!
