Recently I accidentally ripped the fabric on my Ignition (Taking it to my friends house, it was cold and I accidentally bent it... and that stuff is BRITTLE when it's cold, I guess.) Since it's gotten the rips, I've been patching it with clear electrical tape, but it keep peeling off every few days and sticking to my feet. (Killed me a few seconds from the end of vertex once. ) Is there a more effective way to patch holes on an ignition? Duct tape maybe? The rips are along the sides of the back pad.

Tape's no good. Get (if you can find it) a repair kit for vinyl (pool floats and the like). Tape will still pull away as you stress the pad during play. The vinyl repair kit will actually fuse the vinyl, giving you a much stronger bond.

is the patch kit your dad has an actual patch or does it cause the materal to fuse? that is going to be the key to fixing it I think. just as abrannan said, fuseing the vinyl will give it a much stronger bond.
in regards to the question of the topic I paid about 35 dollars canadian for mine, however its a madcats pad, its really good for me but I play on light and am just breaking into standard, I dont think it would be much good for anything passed that. I also have an offical konami pad that came with my bundle when I got DDR 3, I really like it but my feet cant take the lack of padding.
good luck in your quest to fix your ignition, I was going to get one myself but then I found that one from madcats for a fraction of the price.
best wishes all.
