Hey, I'm just introducing myself as a new member. I wasn't going to, but then I realized I posted random info. in random places, and so I felt like I should just put it all in one place.
I'm a girl, I'm 5'4 ( or 5'5, depending on the scale used ), and I weigh 212 pounds. I'm down from 220 pounds, but I've only lost 3 playing DDR, so I'm only going to count those.
I have a weight bench and I used to use it a lot, but then I started getting bored with just that, and it wasn't very good at working my legs, so I decided I needed a change. Well, I knew I needed one anyway. I didn't know if I was actually going to find it. But luckily, I did. I went to a friend's church when they were having a video night, and some of the kids had brought DDR. I fell in love the moment I saw it, even though I didn't want to play in front of all of those people.
I then found out that a few of my close friends had it, and from then on it was awesome. From the moment I actually stepped on it and played it, I knew I had to have it, so I went out and bought a PS2 and DDR Extreme. Even though the dance mats I have are the cheapy-soft kind that ABSOLUTELY SUCK ARSE, I still have fun playing. Most of the time I don't even use the pads . They're too frustrating.
I just got it a couple weeks ago, and I've been playing it pretty regularly. I was on beginner/light mode when I got it, and now I find light mode too boring to play with most of the time. I'm practicing standard, although I'm not quite there yet. I'm getting there though :-). It's awesome because I'm the fattest person in my close group of friends, and I kick all their arses at DDR, even though I still suck at it lol.
I'm not really on any diet or anything. I don't drink a lot of soda anyway. I'd say less than two or three cans per week, if that much. I will have to cut back on drinking kool-aid and stuff, but that won't be a problem. I used to hate water, but after doing Atkins for a while, I realized water was my best friend. Now I actually crave water. It's awesome. ( BTW: Atkins was wonderful *<-- sarcasm *. I lost a lot of weight * I only weighed 198 when I started * and got down to 160. Then I plateaued and gained every pound back. Plus 20! Atkins is so not a lifestyle change for normal people . I don't mean to be prejudiced; I realize it will work for some people. But most people aren't going to stick to something like Atkins. )
Hmm. Anyway. That's a long post. But that's it about me. I'm just looking to strengthen my leg muscles more by playing DDR, and hopefully lose a few pounds while I'm at it. I never was much of a runner, so DDR is it for my leg training. I hope it works. If anybody has any comments or anything to say, advice, etc., just post it for me :-). Thanks for taking the time to read all of this! ( If you did. I'll understand if you just quit halfway )
