:)i've been reading the board for a while, just got ddr on playstation a month ago and can't believe how uncoordinated i must be if you are all on heavy and i'm still getting into light hahaha.i use training mode and i find myself getting on the mat whenever i'm bored and that's more often than i'd like to admit. clocking in a lot of hours and seeing a difference, not on the scale but in the way i look. little steps. you've all been a help to me as i watched from afar so i hope i can put some support in too.

Yes, I'm on heavy now (barely), but it's taken me the better part of 2.5 years to get here. Don't worry about how fast you progress, as long as you're working up a sweat, it's helping you.
Welcome to the boards! We look forward to hearing more from you.

I know what you mean, it took me 2 1/2 months to move from light to standard. I will probably be at standard for a long, long, long time. In a way I am glad it is not coming to easy for me so I feel challenged. Trying to improve my scores is one of the reasons I get back on the mat every night. People tend to lose interest in playing a game after they master it.
Keep at it and you will play heavy too!

Keep at it! As my mom always said, persistance will always win out.
I started with Konamix on the PSX on the super light setting in Workout Mode and worked my way up. That's not to say that I'm very good, but I'm up to Heavy songs with a smattering of Standard on DDRMAX2 - it's better than I'd ever thought I'd be.

Hi! Here's some tips if you are worried bout not progressing fast: -Follow the beat and music not the arrow timing alone, pay attention to them both and put it on SOLO. the colors will tell you what beat the arrow lies on. -Listen to a lot of rave, techno, and get into IDM (aphex twin, etc.) they help you understand beats and stuff easier. -Don't rush it, but once you can easily A a level 4, try that level 5. Don't hold back -Water, of course Good luck on your journeys and may dance be with you

Yeah I would say dont just listen to techno (although thats mostly what I listen to), mix it up a bit, challenge yourself to keeping the beat when you are listening to a song, this will help build up your inner metronome and help you immensely while playing DDR.

keep it up. I've been playin off and on for a year(as in playing every once in a blue moon in the aracade_...but just got a good mat (cobalt flux..whohop ;D) a few months ago. I'm just *now* starting to be able to finish a few standard songs, and even so, I'm only getting "c"s. I'm really un-co-ordinated so it takes awhile. Like I said, just keep it up. As long as you're moving, I figure you're prolly burning calories...which is a good thing

Yeah, DDR is cool. I've been playing for like 10 months or so. Go Heavy and 10 footers!
