K, so im 6 feet 1 inch talk, and I weigh anywhere from 222-235 pounds at 17 years old...
I play DDR on Heavy and Oni at least 4 times a week for at least 2 hours and I have for 4-5 months.
now, the bad thing is im by no means muscular and I've barely lost any weight... when I do lose it it fluxuates.. Dangerously.
In one day I can gain and lose over 15 lbs sometimes. Its frustrating and obviously not healthy.
Ive nearly quit pop, down to 6 20 oz. bottles a week compared to the 4-5 bottles and 2 12 packs i used to drink a week.
And like I said I play Heavy and Oni up to 9 steppers 8-16 hours a week. I need help.
Plx respond.

Tip #1 - Lay off the Pocky. But seriously, what are you eating? Take us through a sample day, listing everything you eat, when you eat it, and why you're eating it. I can do 2000 calories worth of exercise a day, but if I'm eating 6000 calories a day, I'm still going to gain weight. Try mixing up your exercise, too. Your body adjusts to a particular exercise if you do it often enough, and you don't get as much of a calorie burn benefit. The key is to keep your muscles guessing. Do some upper body work (even handstands and push ups) on some days, abs another day, DDR another, etc. The more varied your workouts, the more benefit you'll reap in calories burned.

cutting down on the soda is good, but really you should quit entirely. there is no place for soda in peoples diet. each one contains 100+ non nurtritive calories and has stuff in it that interferes with nurtrient absorption and also leaches calcium from bones. Diet soda is no better. I wont go on a rant about that but i dont understand why anyone would drink aspartame.
drink water!
If your weight fluctuates that much in a day, its probably water fluctuations.
as mentioned, keep track of what and how much you're eating a day (which is not easy)

Are you using a cheap and busted scale, too? My wife and I had one for a while before picking up one of the nice jobs that checks your BMI and water weight. (I can't suggest one of these enough, now!)
Also, how regular is your diet? Do you eat at the same time every day? Drink the same amount of water? Are you getting a good variety in your diet?
What about snacks? Do you eat a similar amount at a similar time every day? Just planning those in advance, planning to enjoy the snack to its fullest, and sticking to this plan can do wonders.
I guess - overall - how much have you regulated your diet? Mostly the "when", followed by "how much."

If your weight fluctuates that much in a day, its probably water fluctuations. Yes, thats mostly likley it. I read once that major league starting pitchers can loose to 10-15 pounds in water weight in just a start! 2 hours of DDR on heavy prolly has a similar effect. Pop (and I thought people in ohio were the only ones who caled it pop is also a diuretic, which gets rid of water from the body. Drinking any of that will have your water weight fluctuate. So yes, stop that at all cost! Try crystal light, or iced green tea sweetened with splenda (my fav

(I can't suggest one of these enough, now!) how much do those cost and where would you get it? never seen any scales like that.. heh Mr.Pocky, i need to cut down on the soda too... but mt.dew is just too awesome. I've bought some of the really high quality green tea leaves (teabags are EVIL, they are the lowest of the low for quality) and i really like it. Water, green tea, and milk... thats basically all i drink most of the time till i splurge on mt.dew

Well, like everyone else has said here, cut the soda. A lot of it. It really is just empty calories. Weight gain all for nothing in a bottle called pop, yeah?
Next, weight fluctuation is normal depending on your water retention, food in you system, etc. etc. etc. Try just weighing yourself once a week, preferably in the morning - results are much more constant that way. Plus, being obsessed with a scale weight does nothing good in the real world, so once a week is enough.
Next, watch your diet. Diet is just as important as exercise. Without proper nutrition habits, cardiovascular exercise can become more catabolic towards muscle instead of fat.
And finally, consult your doctor or a nutritionist about your diet and exercise habits. They'll be able to give you advice as well as follow up on your progress also.
Anyways, good luck on your weight loss. Keep up with us on your progress soon. ^^

Hm I have had a odd diet or at least lately too, I only drink diet pop occasionally, but every friday I have a pop or two, and sometimes I will have the junk food, but whatever I'm doing tends to work out for me because I manage to lose weight and fat Just try being strict during the week but have a party food night per week, and see what it does for you. I know nothing about carbs or whatever but what I am doing works, so thats what I suggest. :-P

That's actualy a method that works quite well for a lot of people. Allowing yourself one cheat meal, or day, or even a small snack (see StarDrfiter's post about bit o' honeys) helps you keep from feeling deprived the rest of the time, so you're more likely to behave the rest of the time. Plus, you can only eat so much in one sitting, and you'll generally find yourself feeling sick the more you indulge, so that works as a negative reinforcement system as your mind begins to associate "bad" foods with feeling sick.
