Hey folks,
One thing i think would be a cool way to show our community spirit would be to put together a member map. I work in geographic Information Systems and have an easy database of Zip codes and their locations across the country. If folks want to post their zip-codes here i can mark your hometown on a map and we can get a picture of where we all come from? What do you guys think, do you want to see something like this? i can also create a database of weight losses that could be shown on that map, or any other interesting stats.
My only problem is tht i'm not that net-savy so i wouldn't know how to post the map here, but i can make the map into most common immage formats and pdf.

I am into webpage design and can probably help you out with getting out on the net, if you wanted we can use my server to upload the stuff. I go through Tripod Pro and get like 50 MB of storage and 10.0 GB of bandwidth.

I assume that this forum is a worldwide used forum, at least I'm from The Netherlands, and I know some from the Uk and most of the members probably come from the USA.

I may have a dataset the vocers the world over...not sure. I'll have to check up on that. I know i have the USA set to go, but i also have global datasets....just not sure if they have a way for me to link up to their location. I'll look into it.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Also maybe a chatroom to for the members speicifcally of this forum. Is there a chat?  It seems crazy to me that there wouldn't be one.. maybe i just dont pay attention. |
