I wonder what MAria would say if I called "JASON MRAZ" a gay man.....
(I have nothing againsts gays, I'm not trying to be negative since gay means happy and I really think Jason Mraz is very very gay, extremely gay. But the guy can shure roll a huge Cannon"
By the way his music's off the wall, ForShisAa

underground eh?
Atmosphere- if you like real Hip Hop without the bling and hoes..
The Mars Volta - i'm not sure how underground these guys are anymore....but they are amazing enough to put anywhere
Acid Bath- kickass metal group
Age of Silence- far out stuff...like TooL, Dredge...etc
Buried Inside - Mind Blowing Lyrics, and amazing Music...Buried Inside is to Time as Tool is to the Kabbalah
The Blood Brothers - some put them in Hardcore...but that would be false...just check em out
Cipher System - An Awesome Swedish Metal band....hmmm....seems every metal group to come out of Sweden is good...
Tristania - Melodic Death Metal group....great female vocalist...good stuff all around

It's not necessarily underground, but I'd like to throw in a plug for the entire sub-genre of Mashups. Vocals from one song laid over the music from another, preferably from two very different genres. Examples, Lyrics from Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby laid over the music of Wang Chung's Everybody Have Fun Tonight, or Eminem's Without Me over Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams. Those of you in the DC area can hear mashups on DC101 on Saturday Nights 10:00-midnight.

greetings from the concrete jungle Something relatively underground in the U.S. but rampantly pop in the U.K. is two-step (aka garage) which my humble significant other happens to lay down on the decks every once in a blue moon. It's a type of electronic dance music similar to a cross between hip hop and breaks, but heavily influenced by drum & bass. There is a garage track in DDRMax (i'd have to bust out the game and go thru them all to name it, which i will do later today if anyone wants to know which one.) Interested? Go here: www.bbc.co.uk/1xtra/garage/I'd recommend Richie Vibe Vee and J Da Flex in the Garage section. On the same site, if any one is a jungle head or a house junkie, check out DJ Flight under Drum & Bass and Aaron Ross under More Styles. Both are have *amazing* track selection skills and aren't bad DJ's to boot. UJKitten

I've tried to listen to 2 step and garage, but just couldn't get into them. Then again, I tend to be a lot more hyper than most bigger name electonic artists get.
I'll check out some of your suggestions if possible, though.

If hyper is your thing, def. check out the drum and bass names. I don't know what game(s) you have, but Total Science's "Catch It," Kause and Konception's "Altitude," and Aya's "G2" are all d'n'b selections from Ultramix2. There's one more on there but i can't remember the name. Total Science is a big artist in the local DnB scene here in the metro washington-baltimore area (TS is from the U.K.) They cause quite a stir whenever they come to town. UJKitten

Check out Test Theory at www.testtheory.tk. They are a band from Darwin Australia, and just out of high school, but they rock. I found out about them through my sister (she is a moderator on their forum).

Oh my god where have the Black Dahlia Murder been all my life? They rock. Thanks for the command to listen. Yes... they are amazing. More bands: Amon Amarth (Viking death metal!!!) Dark Tranquillity (Deep, thoughtful Gothenburg hybrid metal...) Children of Bodom (Great melodic death metal... from Finland) The Berzerker (Hands down THE craziest band you'll EVER hear.)
