Uh...I just got my new EGM today, and in it had a review of DDR Extreme. They mentioned something about 64th notes. Could this have something to do with Maximizer?

Toysrus...lied..they didnt have it. bestbuy said the 25th. Gamestop said this pm..but I am not sure if I believe them or now. I think I will just go do tons of DDRMAX 2 and try not to think about it! and get it when I see it. NOT I will be hustling out as soon as I figure out who has got it.

Toys R Us isn't reliable, I haven't shopped there after they sold me a defective 32X for Sega Genesis and wouldn't take it back.
Gamestop is a good store, they will def. have it this afternoon.
I hope EBGames does, I'm going there (hopefully it's during lunch) and picking it up when they call me.
Or wait until after work, cuz my friend Dave is working there.

should i get US extreme when i already have JP extreme? I'd say yes. There are a lot of different modes that aren't in the Japanese Extreme, not to mention the new/different songs. The US extreme seems more like a hybrid of the JP Extreme and DDR Festival, I'd almost go a far as to say the US version shouldn't be called Extreme, as it has strayed pretty far from the JP version.

Looks like 71 songs is the final tally. No Sakura, no Cartoon Heroes, unless they've done some monster hiding of files.

That PISSES me off so much. What about we DDR players that suck but want to play Trip Machine Survivor or The Legend of Max? What a bunch of bastards. DDR goes negative a thousand points in my book.

Simma dan na. I think that it probably can still be unlocked by just playing songs. It is just that is how people originally unlocked it, and the first page hasn't been updated.
The one thing I hate so far is that the corner buttons cannot be disabled. How the heck to they forget to include that option? It made playing the easiest three Oni courses a little more entertaining BUT I HAD TO HAVE MY "YOU'RE NOT HERE." Also, I guess that you can't slow down songs in training. I will never be able to beat the 10s with that missing (not that I could beat them anway).
Let's just go through the new shtuff: Diving (Radio Edit): good song, easy steps Go West: uh, I'll play it again when I am going for AAAs or something. It has decent steps for a 6. Kids In America: Didn't play it yet Move Your Feet: Great song, fun (fairly challenging) steps for a 7, and a great video! Music (Bostik Radio Edit): An 8-footer that is fun and fairly challenging. The music is cool, too. Planet Rock (Swordfish Radio Edit): An excellent song with creative and fun steps. Simply Being Loved (Somnambulist): Cool trancy song. It think the steps were average for a 7...can't remember for sure. Y.M.C.A.: Did not play it yet. I kept avoiding it until I stopped playing. Your Rain (Rage Mix): The song is okay, but the steps are simple. Actually, I thought the steps were harder in Standard playing the Akira Premium challenge course. Maybe it was just the difficulty of Challenge mode on a deteriorating controller. Believe: Did not play it yet. The only thing going for it seems to be that, as a cover, Cher is not singing it. Bizarre Love Triangle: Decent song with very fun steps. Ladies' Night: I only played the Light steps (in Challenge mode), but...booooooooooooring. It has no emotion compared to the original. Like A Virgin: Not a great cover, but it is actually an 8-footer. It is an easy 8, though. It is like Superstar's steps without the 16ths. Waiting For Tonight: Decent all around. I like the original song better.
And the winner: You're Not Here: This is a great alternarock song with a great video. The steps are the most creative I have seen in a long time, and I just played through like every song ever made in Stepmania last week. It definitely has the best stepset to ever premier in a US release. I wish this song were in the Arcade so I could waste money playing it in public! It is a deserving 8, but it is a fairly intense and difficult 8.
Other stuff: It feels kind of like the difficulty curve from 1st->3rd stage is bigger than before. I don't even know how I died the first time I played 321 Stars, but I thought I only missed a few steps and...boom!
Ah, Drop Out. I can only beat it if I pick it as my first stage, but I still love it. Pink Rose is a great song with an insanely cool bg animation. The Reflex is surprisingly challenging, even on a 2x sightread. Only You has a hillarious video!
Crazy downgrade: Do Me is an 8 now. I knew it was a fairly easy 9, but I didn't think it deserved a downgrade.

Ooh... Drop Out is hard.
Is Waiting For Tonight a J. Lo cover? I hate pop, but I like that song...

drop out is not that hard when u get use to it.
i can easily AA that song now, it's been out in arcades for awhile.
i really need to get US extreme, it looks fun, but i'm not really in a hurry to get it cuz i already have JP extreme which in my opinion is alot better.

Like I said, I can beat Drop Out. The steps are simple. The challenge is in the speed. 260 is really fast for us Cata and below players. And we know that Drop Out has been in arcades for awhile. It has even been in an American release for a few years: Konamix. Yeah, EXJP is better, but US Extreme is fun. (Sadly) There is no Legend Road, but there is this course: The Way of Legend PARANOiA MAX (DIRTY MIX) - Heavy TRIP MACHINE survivor - Heavy PARANOiA ETERNAL - Heavy MAXIMIZER - Heavy V (for EXTREME) - Challenge The Legend of MAX - Heavy Just the fact that TLOM heavy is in this one makes it ridiculously difficult, just not Legend Road difficult. Another note: Paranoia Eternal is easier than Evolution, which was an 8-footer...wtf. Also, Maximizer's boss steps were not located with the other steps. However, a Konami rep said they were there (not hinted...SAID), and Maximizer is a red (boss) stage, yet has not appeared in a boss form (unless you count the last mission as being boss...I hear the steps are harder, but not Max-level). I get the feeling that Konami knows how the players usually extract information from the disc, and they may have hard-coded the steps into the game's engine itself. Of course, they could also not be there. I really hope that isn't true. Oh, and Funk Boogie was a major disappointment. I got my On the Jazz and Drop the Bomb, though ;D.
