I just want to know if it is possible to get AAA on anything at all on a soft pad, on Standard or Heavy, no mods - I have been playing a long time, play mostly Heavy with consistent A's-AA,s on Standard/Heavy, and have yet to ever get AAA on anything on Standard.
When you guys get AAA's is it always at Arcade or metal pad?

When you guys get AAA's is it always at Arcade or metal pad? It's very hard to get a AAA on a soft pad, especially if it's one of the crappy off-brands like Madcatz. I've gotten a AAA on a beginner song, but never standard or heavy on a soft pad; it always gives me pad-miss and boos. If you had a very flat surface, and the song you were playing didn't require you to move a whole lot, then I think it could be at least feasable that you'd be able to AAA a song. Also, speed mods and Solo mode help...but that's a different story, lol. |

I've done it on a flat mat, but it's VERY difficult. And when I say VERY, I MEAN VERY VERY VERY. It is certainly possible, though.
Most of my AAA's are off of my ignition, though, not a flat mat. I have no doubt I could do it at the arcades though if I ever actually went.

Anyway, my AAA's... Days Go By Kind Lady Kind Lady (Interlude) The Earth Light (I know, technically a AA, but it's AAA by modern standards) There's also Full Excellent Combos on ITG in... Da Roots Bubble Dancer  Disconnected ~Mobius~ I think that's all. |

No, but it could be argued that an FEC is a AAA, since I think the timing window for Excellent on ITG overlaps partly with the timing window for perfects on DDR. Unfortunately, it overlaps with DDR greats too (if I know my timing windows right), so there's no way to be sure. Anyway, if our attempted resurrection of our soft mats work, I'll have a lot more AAA's to add soon.  |

FEC = full excellent combo in ITG
an FEC is not an AAA in my book mainly because it overlaps with the great window in ddr.
