DDR US1st Mix machines and DDRUSA machines are allowed to be here. All other machines either the vendor has a special license (Namco has one of these) or it's here illegally (most other places).

The only reason Toshiba EMI (the company that supplies all the licensed songs, avex was in on it too but that contract expired) is because it's only to be released in Japan. konami paid for Japan licensings, nothing more. To legally get a DDR machine to America a vendor has to pay a fee.
Konami would have to pay Toshiba EMI ALOT more money for the songs if it was to be released in other countries.
It's basically the same reason you can't play a Japanese movie on your American DVD player, or a Japanese PS2 game on your American PS2.

It's basically the same reason you can't play a Japanese movie on your American DVD player, or a Japanese PS2 game on your American PS2. Ahhhh. I see. Makes sense. Though I still deem it completely unreasonable. Almighty (insert currency) rules again. |

Drop Out really isn't too bad if you can keep up near the end, but the Oni Mix will give you good practice for that.
