Noobs and pros get em. It's TOTALLY unavoidable. So what's your track record for slip-ups? I'll start by just posting mine for today, which made me think of posting this. Swinging in between the bars, my arms suddenly let go for no reason. Gravity of course feels the need to make itself known, and I fall to the ground, my neck cracking right on the edge of the pad. Oddly enough, didn't hurt at all. I'm thinking this might be one of those "This'll suck in the morning" deals I proceeded to get back up to do a set, and screwed up on my knee drop, smashing both of my knees instead of just bouncing off them. So I'm currently concussed and can't walk ;D

I never really injured myself while play. I usually slip or lose balance but never really fell over or anything.

I would not really call mine an injury but it did hurt my pride...
i was at a anime con.. it was really late... i was like...hell...lets play some DDR... they only had the guys who worked the arcade there...
I was in a tanktop with a built in bra..well...ladies.. you know how that goes...
so... suprise.... rhythm and police will never be the same again...

Oh FaerieLink, that sucks....as a fellow female, I feel for ya.
I have bent over to tie my shoe at the arcade and my friend informed me I was showing off some major buttcrack but that's all hehe
I do have occassional shin splint issues and my ankles get tweaked sometimes for a few days but I just play thru it (probably not the best idea).

Well... If you're weird like me you make your own tap dancing shoes by putting tacs in the bottom of them ^__^ and then... You might forget them on and go play DDR... Now... Metal to plastic... its very slippery you see.... Yeah... lol

I'm with evillittlekiwi...
I've got an Ignition pad, & tonight I fell off of it for the first time.
I'm now nursing a strained foot (twisted my ankle, but it's the foot that took the brunt of the injury... go figure) w/ elevation & ice.
Not so bad an injury, but hey... I'm a *real* DDR player now, right? ::snrk::

How are the ignition pads? Pretty good and durable? Any slipping? I use the official Konami ones right now and they work great (except when you use a PS2 to XBox Converter).

Yeah, I hurt my ankle once, too, slipped off the edge of an arcade pad for no good reason & turned my ankle. It hurt for a few weeks. I was already pregnant at that point, so it was probably a warning to slow down.

When I was playing Ez2Dancer in the Student Union arcade lots, I slipped on the panels occasionally where people had managed to spill their drinks (the ez2 step surface is pretty smooth and uniform compared to DDR). Never really fell over, but I picked up a few gentle sprains from that (hitting split steps on Double mode usually).
Back then, I used to be fit. Now I'm returning to serious DDR practise (stepmania really) - my weight never went up when I stopped playing, I'm just not in anything like "good shape". I'm very aware right now that my stamina's not as good as it used to be.
