Does anyone here play anything? Tell us here! (Sound clips would be GREAT ) I play the trumpet, electric guitar, drums, recorder (haha), and the piano.. I'd love to learn how to play an Alto sax, though.

No sound clips, but I play the tuba and trombone quite well, bass guitar, and pull of the trumpet sometimes. I can also play keyboards, electric guitar, and baritone... anything low brass, really.

Drums, guitar, bass (badly), and the keytar. I was also "percussionist" in my school bands, which involved so many other instruments.
Hmm.. sound clips. My drums are in Michigan, so I've been using my PC as a drum machine. It's been a long time since I actually recorded any song "live" instead of sequencing one together, too. I wouldn't know which piece of music to link to. There is one "semi-live" one, but it was mixed together really poorly.

I play the guitar and I want to learn to play the harp, played one once, and I played the beginning of brahams lullaby, with the help of the lady who owned the harp, but I did do it myself. Maybe after I buy my car I will be able to buy a harp. I also sing!! But no sound clips yet. As soon as I have something recorded tho I will put the link on here. I have connections for a recording studio. I love managing a hip hop group!!! Yay!!! Does the jaw harp count ? I'm am not a hillbilly I swear it.

hope you know that a good harp can cost around $4,000 and that's just a nice harp.... a CHEAP pedal harp will cost a good 10 grand.
They are also weather sensative, and take a while to tune...and you need to tune reguarly. Mine falls out of tune after a few days.

I do know this I was thinking more like a lap harp. I have seen the price on the really nice ones. I live in Seattle are and there is a great shop with harps and all sorts of intersting instruments, called dusty strings, plus I can make payments and stuff. I dont' care if it takes forever to buy one, but I will buy one. Oh and changing strings looks intimidating, and prolly is no doubt. But it is the prettiest sounding instrument ever, I wouldn't mind trying out some differnt pedals, i.e. distortion reverb ect. My friend Jackson would like me to try that once I get a harp, so that he can make a beat with it. We like cool noises.

I get the impression that it was one of those after-the-holiday-concert-but-before-winter-break-what-are-we-going-to-do-with-the-kids-that-could-be-in-any-way-shape-or-form-related-to-music things

Oh, you mean not all music teachers show Madagascar in order to fill time?? ;-) I suppose I can let it go then. I apologize for my rant. :-D

yeah - doing kareoke in class for a fun party game as a treat would have been loads of fun... we always did pictionary and would get in trouble for always trying to get the class to guess "michael jackson" ....yes...that's a true story.
Did I ever mention that my class of 52 students was extremely naughty?
