So I've been playing DDR on and off for about two years now. I went through a stage in my freshmen year of college where I became chronically depressed and gave up my work out. Suffice to say I've ballooned since then and I need to get back on the wagon. Since I started my high fibre/protein diet I've lost about 15 pounds. I say about because I refuse to weigh myself until I look better physically. I am that disgusted with what I've become. I was considering purchasing the following, as I detest the gym. I don't mind doing strength training but Cardio at the gym is lonely, boring and just flat out mind numbing. 1) Ps2 (Used) with all DDR titles available. 2) Ignition pad I was considering springing for the Afterburner Pad but I don't know if it would be wise to use it considering my current weight (around 260-270). I don't wanna buy the thing and then have my fat ass break it, y'kno? The Cobalt Flux is well out of my reach given the investment I'm about to make in what I view as essentially exercise equipment. So, thoughts? Any where I can get a deal on this stuff? I'm in college afterall Thanks. -S

try to find a second hand video game store in your area. Where I moved from we had a store called video game star where you could bring in old games for store credit, and buy used games for cheap. You can also try the used games at game stop but they are cheaper in a local store. So try finding someone local before doing the chain.
I would go for the ignition, especially since you're just starting out again... otherwise you are looking at quite a large investment.

Don't overlook posting a wanted ad on Craigslist or the like. You may find someone who has moved on from the PS2 who's loooking to get rid of their system, or someone who tried DDR and decidede it wasn't for them.

I actually went to EB and picked up a used copy of DDR Universe for Xbox 360 (It's the only system I own). I've got the Madcatz Beat Pad Pro coming in from Amazon and all the user reviews said its comparable to the ignition pad.
Completely forgot about getting the 360 version of DDR. Huzzah!
Edit: Oh, static. If you wanna do some coop on Halo 3 add me. My GT is Heiro Monk3y.
