Carpal Tunnel syndrome is the term used to describe the effects of pressure on the median nerve in your forearm. The symptoms are usually a numbness or tingling in the last three fingers (middle, ring, pinky) of your hand. It's one of the more common repetitve stress injuries. I suppose you could get it from lifting, if what/how your are lifting is causing a swelling that puts pressure on the nerve. But what you describe (Wrists hurting) doesn't sound like CTS to me. Your best course of action would be to consult a doctor about it. It could be nothing, but it could also be something that requires action. As far as strengthening wrists. I recommend wrist curls. www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/WristFlexors/DBWristCurl.html
