What I'm looking for is not only how many calories you burn per session, but also your current weight, and number of days a week you play...
I'm trying to find an average of what people in my range are doing so I can try to push myself a bit more mentally/physically.
Last night I went past my daily goal of 500, up to 800 something... Afterward I didn't feel any worse for wear than I would have had I stopped at 500...
TIA!
Right now, I'm at 310 lbs, and I average 300-500 Cals per session. I average about 3-4 days a week.

I don't use workout mode, but at 170 pounds, it claims I burn anywhere from 6 to 20 calories a song, and I usually play 2 hours (two one-hour sessions) a day.
Averaging 10 calories per song and 2 minutes per song, that's 5 calories a minute. So in two hours I theoretically burn 600 calories. To be honest I find that a little difficult to believe that - if I did I would have think I would have lost some weight this week!
I wonder how well that calorie calculator works anyways, considering how high you lift your feet, whether or not you sort of "dance" during offsteps etc, would all be a factor as well.

I feel you mar... i actually moved into a downstairs one in the same complex so i could start playing at home..hehehe
but...
i am 5'4" ...235...(but everyone says i dont look it)..and burn about 400-500 in 30 min....
i work my ass off tho... i dont usually follow the steps.. i get the worst scores in diet mode because i will add in hella steps...and just kinda do what i feel... if the song is fast.. i might try and go for the score...but...my new plan is this!
Get up...burn min 400... i would like to work up to 600 or 800....go to work...follow normal south beach diet eating...come home...do 45 min of yoga or weights...i will alternate the days...
i will keep ya posted on what that all burns =)

I'm 260, down from 280. I usually burn 250-300 calories a workout and dance at least once a day, 2-3 times a day if my baby will let me.
I am also following a Mediterrean diet (low calorie, low saturated fats, lots of fruits, veggies and whole grains). The combo seems to be really effective. I'm hoping to be under 200 by my birthday in January.

i started about five weeks ago at 415 lbs. i'm 6'6", and i carry my weight well so it wasn't difficult to get started.
for the first couple weeks i played every other night, so 3-4 times a week, for 45-60 minutes and burning 800-1200 calories.
now i'm at about 409 lbs, though i can't tell much difference in the mirror, my endurance levels have soared. recently i've been playing 5 nights a week for 60-80 minutes per session, and on average burn 1600-1700 calories.
now that i can go for those lengths of time, i've been working on increasing the intensity of the workout, rather than length, so i'll hit the 1400 calorie mark at 50 minutes, and then cool down.
it's something of an epiphany when you realize you've gone from barely finishing 5-6 footers to acing 7-8's within a couple weeks.
of course, considering my stature, i may throw your mean-curve the hell out of whack. ;]

calories burned is directly relative to weight. if you weighed around 200, and had a 200 lb rabid monkey strapped to your back whilst playing ddr, you'd probably burn the same number of calories as i, sans monkey.
by the time i drop most of the excess weight, i will be burning significantly fewer calories, so i may be in the market for the aforementioned monkey - if anyone has one to spare?
the max i've hit so far was 2100 calories in one session which lasted roughly 100 minutes. despite how much fun ddr can be, i tend to force myself to wind down once i hit 1500 [60 minutes or so].. i don't want to push myself too far into the anaerobic stage, where the oxygen demands become so great your body starts burning muscle instead of fat.

According to DDR workout mode, I usually burn 700 to 1000 calories a day. I refuse to burn less than 650 anymore. 650 takes me about 30 Minutes, roughly 30 to 40 calories per song on Heavy or Standard Mode (I tend to force myself to jump around ). I don't really get winded too much anymore, just disgustingly sweaty. XD I FEEL a whole lot healthier. I'm down to 207 from 226 pounds, lost two inches around my waist, bust, n' under the bust... and 3 from my hips. I'm very encouraged, heh.

I've been eatting a lot more nutritious foods and trying to stay away from empty calories like candy, sweets, white breads, rice and potatos and pasta. Wheat bread/pasta are still ok for me and Im losing a good amount of weight. Down about 20 lbs in a couple months from 260 to 240.

I do about about 100 calories in 15 min of work out mode, then I switch to game mode and play 'til I start to suck (happens when I start to wear out). I've been lasting a little over an hour lately, that's double how long I could last when I first started. I haven't lost more than about 2 or 3 lbs, but both my Mom and boyfreind have noticed that I'm toning up a little. I haven't seen much difference, but a do feel a lot better with adding exercise to my life.
