My wife and mother in law just got me DDR Extreme for my birthday. To date, my only other experience was with DDRMax2. I'm wondering if I'm alone in noticing more jumps in DDR Extreme.
"Make it Better" in Extreme on Light mode almost reminded me of "Love at Frist Sight" on Heavy from the last game.
Am I just picking the bad songs, or does this seem to want more and more difficult jumps?

Some songs have jumps, some don't. They woulden't make a whole game jump heavy.

I know that much. I was thinking more about the quantity and potential difficulty of jumps.
Jumps in DDRMax2's Light mode seemed less frequent, on average, than I'm finding in Extreme. Max2's Light songs also seemed to only have you jump up+down or left+right.
What I've seen of Extreme, still in light mode and in general, are more jumps and no limits on what arrows those jumps require.

in MAX2 on light mode, some songs ive played have up+left/up+right/down+left/down+right jumps, it all depends on the songs you pick (ive even seen 8th arrows on light mode 0_o) i dont think they would make any one game specifically difficult on purpose. (but sometimes it does happen)

Hehe, I wouldn't want the game to be jump-heavy. My house is pier and beam, which if someone barely jumps in my room stuff might fall off from my desk. It's not a matter of weight, but sometimes I think I get more of a work out trying to not knock things off the shelves by squatting when I land on a jump to absorb the force. I guess it works...=P

If people don't like generally jump-heavy DDR titles, don't buy Max.

I think I had not noticed that Extreme was defaulting to Standard, where I had Max2 defaulting to Light. I was still working out the differences when I asked this question.
It doesn't bug me now anyway. ;D

Yeah I know, you just have to figure out the pattern then it is really easy...basically for drop out you pivot on the jumps.

I saw a kid play max300 on the acrcade machine last night and fail halfway through..come back and do another round failing halfway through.. and then come back a third time and asked to cut me in line. He was determind..so I was like yeah...go for it. He put his $$ in, playes the song... and at this point we were all watching him. He gets past the halfway mark... closer closer... his bar is blinking, and boom... lands the double freeze jump at the end of the song ....and then the arrows on the arcade machine triped out and broke his freeeze and FAILED pounds up on the screen..
I've never seen such a crowd reaction of *ooooohhhhhh man!*(sort of like seeing a guy get hit in the groin) we all felt that pain. poor poor kid.

You mean people can do Max 300 on heavy? Max 300 really isn't too bad as long as you have stamina...
