I feel the grading on extreme is very nice, because you dont have to do good the whole song to get an A. On DDR max 2, If you started out very well, and kinda messed up in the middle, you get a C or D. But on extreme that grading would be A or B. What do you think about thier grading system now? Is it fair or unfair?

My only issue with extreme grading is that you now have to Full Combo a song to get a AA. With Max/Max2, I could flub a step and still get a AA based on the Percentage of Perfects I got.

It has ups and downs. On Max2, you could completely Great Attack the entire thing (0 perfects), and get a AA by FC. 100% Greats at the arcade is a C or a B depending on the number of OKs/NGs possible, even if you Full Combo. This was a bad condition for AA, and it makes Max2's scoring more lenient.
On Extreme, the opposite is true. All perfects with one good is basically the same as getting 2 greats, but will only give you an A. At the arcade, this is a AA (and is basically an SDG by DP). This is also a bad condition for AA, and it makes Extreme's scoring too picky.
As far as numerical scores go, Extreme has a better scoring system. It rewards points with a flat rate rather than steps increasing in value as the song moves on. In other games, messing up the beginning of a song gave a much better score than messing up the end. In Extreme, if two scores would have the same exact Dance Points, they would have the same numerical score (except for the Full Combo bonus).
I'd prefer the Japanese letter grading, and the Extreme US numerical scoring.
