I'm starting this thread so we can all list our goals and what each individual has done to work on changing themselves. That way, people just come here and can see what may work for them!
I personally have vowed to quit smoking. I started wearing the patch yesterday, caved in during the evening. Today was much better. I was sick all day, but managed to remain smoke free all day long. I slept part of the day, but got more accomplished than I normally would if I were to continue smoking.
I also try to play DDR for at least half an hour when I get home 4 days a week. I play a different game each day, cos I do have Max, Max2 and Extreme. Working on Standard all though I have not mastered light, but the only way I seem to improve is playing the songs that are harder.
I am eating healthier too. At work(I work as a manager at McD's and I get free food, so it is difficult to change my eating habits)I no longer eat burgers and only eat fries on occasion. I go for a Fish Filet without cheese or a 6 piece nugget, and apple dippers without the caramel. Haven't managed to cut out soda yet, but I am drinking more water and milk. Instead of juice I eat fruit, which is better than juice anyways.
I will keep you all posted! Make sure you add what works for you and how you are doing also!

DDR, of course. Max2 and Extreme on PS2. I just turned workout steps off, and am doing standards.
Weights are also making their way back into my routine.
Water. I down 40-44 ounces during my workout, and carry another 32 ounce bottle to work. Between them, and the stuff left in the bottom of each at the end of the day, I'm very close to 64 ounces.
Healthier eating. Calorie counting. This was easy - I just started reading the calories on stuff before buying it. Avoiding fats, sugars, sodium, and polyfillintheblank-anythings in favor of more natural foods are also part of the scheme.
I'm also reading more. It keeps me busy. Alongside the water, I don't feel as much need to snack.

I've started to incorporate exercise back into my life. I started the Self Challenge - starts with 30 minutes of cardio 3x/week and 25 minutes of toning 2x/week. For cardio I do DDR (of course) and walking. For toning I've been doing an upper body toning video.
As far as eating, I had joined Weight Watchers but I'm having trouble making myself stick to it, so as soon as all my low-fat WW stuff is gone, I'm going back to my tried and true low carb plan. Especially since I've discovered George Stella from "Low Carb & Lovin' It" on the food network channel, and I bought his recipe book. I'll do much better with the variety.

LOL
That's because he *is* scary . . . and his wife and kids seem like robots instead of real people. The show does have great meal ideas tho, and I've cooked a couple of them for my roommates and sig. other.
I'm trying to eat out less and cook for myself more . . . with DDR and cutting out non-diet soda and making a conscious effort to drink more water, everyone I work with has noticed that I've lost inches around my waist and some of the chub around my face.

That's been my #1, 100% successful weight loss secret. When I make my own food, I lose weight. When I start to eat out more than once a week, I don't lose weight.

Hmm, why is he scary to you guys? His son Christian is cute. They probably seem like robots because they aren't actors, and maybe they're a little nervous about being on TV.
I really like that he reinvents favorites so you aren't bored with the same old typical low-carb things. I've tried a few recipes and LOVED them. I hate cooking and I'm bad at it, but the few that I tried actually not only came out ok, but they were GOOD!!!
And I find I do my best when I'm eating less processed foods which is my new goal.

It's not a robotic thing for me, it's quite the opposite. His personality is still that of the jovial-yet-insecure "fat guy", yet his body is not. There's an incongruity there that's quite dissonant to me.

Yeah, I guess I see what you mean. He does annoy me sometimes. But I love his recipes! In fact, I'm going through his recipe book right now and making a grocery list to get back on my low-carb plan this weekend.
I hate the way he pronounces the word "food" and I hate the way he says "veg" instead of vegetable and no-carb, instead of saying it has zero carbs. "That veg is no-carb. Arrghhhh!

I didn't mean *he* was robotic . . . he seems just very enthusiastic, yet off-beat . . . like he's missing his timing cues - or maybe it's poor editing on the show, who knows? He just doesn't seem to flow like some of the other chefs on Food Network - he seems more awkward.
Frantep is probably right, his wife and kids are probably just nervous about being on TV, but that results in the robotic-like behavior that I perceive. (His son is cute!)

My diet hasn't changed drastically, really. The only thing to change heartilly was going from regular soda to diet soda. I try to keep my breakfast and lunch under or at around 1500 calories so I can, at dinner time, eat something more...
Today, for example, I had two bowls of cereal which I shall give a mental tally of 600 calories. I know that sounds a bit hefty, but it's how I do thangs. For lunch, I had a big salad with cottage cheese and fruit. I'm harsh with that stuff too, I gave the cottage cheese about 350 calories and the salad about 550 calories. That also allows some wiggle room for foods I didn't take into account, so that's about 1500 calories, I tend to add 100 just for good measure. So for dinner I can eat, like... Haha, a Jumbo Jack and two tacos and still be under 2500 calories. -=thumbs up=-
I wont do that, just possible..
So yeah, the only drastic change was drinkage.

Same here with the regular to diet pop. I cut regular pop out of my diet completely, including regular iced tea, fruitpoia, etc. On that note they should come out with a diet fruitopia, because I really like some of the flavours.
Also cutting out fast food... I work at Wendy's, and the food is free for me, so it's easy to just eat something deep fried and disgusting every day. If I do eat there I eat a bun, maybe a grilled chicken (cut out sauces such as mayo and others) ir the fruit.
Also, DDR! This game has been my awakening. When I feel worn out and exhausted after a DDR workout, I feel like I've accomplished something. I love it

i've decided to take the advice that my doctor gave me and stop playing DDR because i recently found out that i am allergic to swarms of teens all shapes and sizes who do nothing else but play DDR all day long and fill my ears with talks of anime, video games, and that they will one day be successful dancers on the 5th "you got served" movie. since then, i have dropped 30 pounds by doing real exercise and i have been able to live a normal and healthy life with the occasional jackass moments and i love it!

I'm confused why you are posting on a DDR site then, and not on the "real exercise" site that caused you to lose 30 lbs.???

Ignore PackOfLlamas, it's just another troll user brought on by the Something Awful article this weekend. The user's been banned, as have a few of the others who've tried to come over just to harrass us.
